I was blessed to be able to do a baby shower cake this past week for a couple from my church. This was such a privilege. This couple has been waiting along time for their baby and have been blessed with a beautiful daughter named Lilia. I made a decadent chocolate cake I like to call the chocolate caramel truffly cake. It was chocolate pound cake layered and filled with vanilla caramel and a rich chocolate ganache and iced in buttercream. I covered the cake with a baby yellow fondant and added a pink sugar paste bow and fun sugar paste butterflies. The cake was pearlized and there was just a hint of pixie dust to make it extra special and give that little bit of girly glitter. The cake was finished off will a sugar paste pink "L" for Lilia's name. It was so much fun to watch the glowing new parents and their family and friends enjoy the cake at their baby shower bash! Sister Smith also sent some pictures of the cake at the party with the new parents.
